So Fringe your Life

Whats the trend that all us fashion worshipers are admiring, obsessing about, spotting on allthe spring/summer 09 catwalks, and buying in our favourite high street stores?

- Its not lace ( so 2008), or frills (cute but kind of outdated), or even leather (you don't need to be anorexic to pull off this trend)........... right now we are adoring FRINGES.

Yes, you may be thinking that fringes can never be in fashion, only worn for dressing up- paired with a bow and arrow in hand, and two plaits as "a red indian". But give it time, even the stubborn ones among you are soon to be sucked in by this fad.

From Topshop: I'm loving the moccasin fringed ankle boots, which can look truly gorgeous with a pair of skin-tight bleach acid jeans....... or if your over the skinny jean look, and are feeling like letting your girly side come out it can be paired with a gorgeous printed dress .

From Gaspard Yukievich- a new favourite designer of mine: I'm adoring his mini sequined dresses, with delicate coloured fringing draped on top(in the link - dress furthest to the left). As this dress is so sensational, it doesn't really need any accesories to be worn with it, although a pair of 7inch stillettos would be a perfect way to top off this sensational peice!

There are many other ways of pulling off this seasons fringing trend for example - by topping off all your casual/smart outfits with a leather fringed bag!

Like Them Loose And Baggy - Harem Pants

Harem pants were all over the runways for Autumn/Winter 09, in Paris, London, and New York - they showed even up a number of times on the YSL and Proenza Schouler. All us fashion obsessed are SUPER happy as this means that we can throw out our long awaited skinny jeans - and last seasons diets. From the boyfriend style jeans and to harem pants, comfort is the new fashion!
Heres a little history, on our soon to be new best friend: Harem pants are described as a baggy pant tapered at the ankle, with side flaps on the hip that buttoned at the waist area. The popularity of the harem pant circulated in the mid-1980s with Mc Hammer

Our New Favourite Designer : Eun Jeong

Dear fellow fashion bloggers, in every fairytale there is the story of the Ugly Duckling transforming into the gorgeous, elegant swan and although Eun Jeong's designs transformation wasn't so extreme between her Fashion Fringe collection and her London Fashion Week aw09 show, there was a definite improvement - from her pretty, sleek white cut out frills draping off all her garments in Fashion Fringe........... to her gorgeous, orginal, quirky designs, and colouring of them in her London Fashion Week Show. I personally see lots of potential in Eun Jeong - thumbs up - she's the next Dior!!!!!!

Dear fellow fashion bloggers,

The key in fashion is individuality, being different and standing out in the crowd - whether you are wearing a bright yellow beret, or floral tights - being fashionable has its own real important message "to be unique, original and fashionable you have to be able to accept yourself and never feel self conscious.... as there will of course be times when people stare at you - DON'T let that stop you, they are either some grumpy old man, another fashionable girl dead jealous of your style, or some bratty teenager that refuses to look at clothes if they aren't from Abercrombie, Hollister, Juicy or the Ugg shop".
